Spring Force MEL STEM Kit

Ages 5–9+ • 1 MEL STEM kit + AR app access 🛠️

Speed or distance — which makes the better racecar? With the Spring Force kit, kids build a racecar powered by a spring engine, then tune it to go faster or farther by reducing friction and using mechanical advantage. It’s a hands-on introduction to how energy moves and changes in the machines around us.

What kids will do

• Assemble a racecar with a spring-powered engine
• Experiment with how energy is stored and released
• Build a motor system using pulleys and levers

What kids will learn

• Why friction matters in every mechanism
• The basics of mechanical advantage
• How energy transforms in everyday life

All-in-one kit — every part needed is in the box, and the finished model is a toy kids keep. Certified safe.

NGSS-aligned: K-PS2-1, K-PS2-2, 4-PS3-4 and more. See our additional educational materials here.
